Honest assessment of current situation: To reach at any destination, it is very important to know where you are standing right now. Similarly to be successful in exams, knowing your current level of preparation is very important. Knowing your current status will help you identify how much you need to improve and for that what level of efforts are required. To find out scope of improvement, sit with your syllabus and make a list of which all chapters you haven’t studied well.
Plan a strategy: Planning is very important part in doing any task. It is said that ‘failing to plan is planning to fail’, so develop a strategy to cover entire portion in remaining time, based on available time. Make sure it has scope to cover all subjects and each chapter properly.
Effective way of study: Rather than slogging for long hours in one stretch study should be done in slots of duration 2-3 hours. Between every slot of study there should be a small gap of 15-20 minutes. These gaps help you revitalize your energy level. For effective utilisation of time, these gaps should be utilised to do your other important daily activities.
Use your time wisely, do not procrastinate: Procrastination is the worst enemy of a student. From this moment, till your exams are over, do not waste your time at all. Be very clear in your mind that right now nothing else is more important for you, than your exam preparation. Each and every minute of your time spent in preparation now will add much more value to your final score. Avoid TV, mobile, social media and other distractions for a few days.
Train your mind for optimum performance: To train your mind for optimal use during exams it is advised that you attempt practice papers during exactly same time i.e. 10 am to 12.30 pm (which is scheduled timing for Goa Board exams) so that automatically your brain starts functioning with maximum efficiency during that time.
Solve Previous 5 years Question papers: To win any battle it is important to have a fair idea about what exactly you are going to face. By solving previous years’ papers, you are actually orienting yourself for real exam questions.
Learn the right way of answering questions: It is a well observed fact that many students despite understanding the underlying concept and knowing correct answers aren’t able to score good marks. It happens due to their inability to present (write) answers in proper manner. Hence it is very important to learn the correct way of writing answers in step by step manner.
Pay attention to your food habits: To stay away from lethargy and maintain your energy level, it is important to pay attention to your food habits. Food habits include what you eat, how you eat and when you eat. Stay away from junk food and heavy food during this time. Eat light and energetic food for optimum performance of body and brain. Drink lots of water as water acts as a good purifier for internal system. A few minutes of exercise or walk in the morning and evening also helps in rejuvenation.
Stay away from negative thoughts: It is also observed that often stress, anxiety and fear creeps in during this time. It is a natural process. But also remember that such emotions only hamper your efficiency and performance in exams. So don’t give too much attention to such thoughts and emotions. If such situation persists discuss it with your parents, teacher guide or whoever you are comfortable with, they will help you overcome this.
